Roll Over Valve Removal
It's one of things I've written about for a while, <G>;
You're removing you roll over valve and rubber hose from the front of the gas tank.
That small hose goes under the tank and down the backbone of the frame, to right in front of the battery box. From there it goes straight down, alongside the rear downtube, and is attached to a plastic rollover valve. Take the left side cover off and look, just behind the fuse box shelf and you'll 'see' where that hose attaches to the plastic rollover valve. Take a phillips screwdriver and take the screw out that hold it. Pull 'up' on the hose and the rollover valve and the green bottom hose will pull straight up and out.
Now , , with all that hose and valve out;
Take a cheap 3 inch foam paint brush, (new of course), and cut it down one side of the handle to get that piece of foam off.
Take the plastic paddle out carefully from inside the foam. It makes fo a foam 'canoe'.
Dip the foam in oil and squeeze out all the excess oil.
Place it over the small 90 degree spigot where the old rubber hose was and attach with a couple of small wire ties / zip ties.
Done ! !
You've just got rid of a piece of mechanical garbage, (the roll over valve), and all that hose, AND, you just vented you gas tank to the outside air, like it's suppose to be, <G>.
Hope this helps,
Joel
